Missouri River

Located two hours north of Bozeman, the Missouri River holds its own with its world-class trout fishing. One of the longest rivers in the Mountain West, the Missouri River is a great destination for catching rainbows, and also is home to a smaller population of native whitefish. Abundant biodiversity along the Missouri’s shores provides ample nutrients and that supports some of the largest trout populations in the world and throughout the season.

Lower Madison River

The Madison River offers world-class fly fishing, and Twin River Outfitters offers exclusive access to early-season fishing on the Lower Madison River. The Lower Madison is known for some of the best fishing of the season, due to its resistance to run-off which supports abundant trout populations. The Lower Madison and boasts some of the most beautiful scenery in the Madison Valley. This trip is best booked in April and early May to experience the fullest of the early season waters!

Upper Madison River

The Madison River flows from Yellowstone National Park into the Missouri River and offers world-class fly fishing. Its diverse scenery and unique habitat support healthy trout populations, making it one of Montana’s most reliable rivers. The Upper Madison boasts some of the most beautiful scenery in the Madison Valley, flanked by three surrounding mountain ranges, while its strong trout populations provide consistent fishing throughout the season. Fishing starts to heat up in late May and remains productive through runoff and well into September, October, and even November.

Yellowstone River

Located in Paradise Valley, the Yellowstone River is the longest undammed river in the lower 48, flowing north from Yellowstone National Park through a stunning valley flanked by the majestic Absaroka Mountains. The Yellowstone is a great river for everyone from beginners to experienced anglers, with abundant populations of cutthroat, rainbow, and brown trout, along with the occasional whitefish. Because the river moves massive volumes of water during runoff, our local expertise is key to finding the best water and making the most of this Montana gem.
